NBA: LeBron, Harden named Players of the Week

Cleveland Cavaliers forward LeBron James and Houston Rockets shooting guard James Harden have been named the Players of the Week for games played Nov. 27 to Dec. 3, the NBA announced Monday.

LA LIGA: Barcelona and Real Madrid both settle for draws as Atletico Madrid win

Barcelona failed to stretch their lead at the top of the Liga table to seven points as Celta Vigo held them to a 2-2 draw in a fine match at the Bernabeu.
The visitors stunned the Camp Nou after 20 minutes when Daniel Wass and Iago Aspas combined to set up Maxi Gomez, who was denied by Marc-Andre Ter Stegen only for Aspas to volley home the rebound.

PREMIER LEAGUE: Arsenal vs. Man Utd delivers, Liverpool and Chelsea romp, Man City win again

WEEKEND REVIEW
How often does it happen? Two big teams such as Arsenal and Manchester United come together in a heavily hyped clash of the titans, and then they serve up a forgettable damp squib of a game. It can be so frustrating, but it didn't happen on Saturday.
In fact, we're still not entirely sure what happened Saturday. We suspect that neither is Arsene Wenger. Elsewhere, Liverpool thumped Brighton, and Chelsea swept aside Newcastle. Honestly, if it weren't for Manchester City being apparently incapable of slipping up, this might have been the best title race ever.

Performance of the weekend

Do you remember when David de Gea was a lightweight, willowy man-child as well-prepared for Premier League football as raw eggs are for hammers? Remember how people said that this was Sir Alex Ferguson's worst goalkeeper misjudgment of all time? (There are lots of contenders for that title, by the way.) How things change. This wasn't just one of De Gea's best performances; this was one of the best goalkeeping performances in the history of Premier League. On balance, and after lengthy consideration, we think it's fair to say that Ferguson got this one right.

NBA: Curry scores 30, Warriors dominate Heat 123-95

Stephen Curry scored 30 points in 30 minutes, Kevin Durant added 24 and the Warriors rode a big third-quarter run to pull away and beat the Miami Heat 123-95 on Sunday night. Curry and Durant didn't even play in the fourth quarter, getting more unplanned but deserved time off.
"Just needed to get some sun and hit the clubs," Kerr deadpanned, the sarcasm clear. "That's what the coaches and I did. We were out all night."

NBA Daily Wrap: Westbrook records seventh triple-double of the season

Sunday was a night of thrillers in the NBA with 10 teams taking to the hardwood and wins coming for the Golden State Warriors, Houston Rockets, Minnesota Timberwolves, Orlando Magic and Oklahoma City Thunder, and Russell Westbrook scoring a triple double.
Thunder strike Spurs
A 22-point, 10-rebound, 10-assist triple-double from Russell Westbrook helped the Oklahoma City Thunder beat the San Antonio Spurs 87-90. Steven Adams had a 19-point, 10-rebound double-double, Carmelo Anthony had nine points and six rebounds, while Paul George finished with eight and eight rebounds.
Dejounte Murray led San Antonio with a 17-point, 11-rebound double-double, Davis Bertans had 16 points, four rebounds and five blocks, and Joffrey Lauvergne 12 and six rebounds.

NBA: Rockets down Lakers to continue hot streak

James Harden scored 36 points, Eric Gordon added 22 and the streaking Houston Rockets beat the Los Angeles Lakers 118-95 on Sunday night for their seventh consecutive victory.
Chris Paul had 21 points for Houston, which has won six straight road games and 13 of 14 overall. Harden handed out nine assists.
Kyle Kuzma led Los Angeles with 22 points, and Brandon Ingram added 18. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope had 16 and Larry Nance Jr. scored 15 for the Lakers, who lost their fifth game in a row.
