The former Akure Gunner was on target twice as Gbenga Ogunbote’s men put the Jos side to the sword in the first half, with two players given the marching order
Ajani Ibrahim wrote his own headlines as Shooting Stars turned in a punch-perfect performance to defeat Giwa FC 3-0 and strengthen the club's pursuit of a top-four Nigeria Professional Football League finish.
Ibrahim ensured he had the last laugh with two
brilliant strikes in the first half in the game where nothing went right
for the visitors at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Ibadan as Kunle Olukokun
added the third.
A win would have moved Giwa, at least temporarily, into
third place but the home side went in front early on when a sizzling
display was finished off by Ajani Ibrahim,
However, the game reared its ugly head when the Oluyole
Warrior’s skipper Izu Joseph and Jimmy Ambrose were given the marching
order for violent conduct which would earn them stiffer penalty from the
League Management Company.
With this victory, 3SC are now 14th on the NPFL log
with 19 points from 15 games while Giwa FC slumped to fifth with 28
points from 17 games.
