British record signing Angel Di Maria has agreed personal terms with Ligue 1 Champions Paris Saint Germain, according to the Metro.

The Manchester United winger has been heavily linked with a move to the Parc des Princes this summer and it now appears that move could be moving closer.

The two giants of European football are yet to agree a transfer fee as of yet but United are expected to suffer a damning loss on the £59.7 million they paid for the Argentina international last summer, claims the aforementioned source.

Di Maria has endured a difficult start to life in England despite what had looked like a promising start to his Premier League career.

The 27-year-old scored three times in his first five league outings for Louis van Gaal’s side last season, which included that magical goal against Leicester, however after that he failed to register another goal for the remainder of the campaign.

As a result of his poor form Van Gaal dropped the former Real Madrid star from the starting XI at the back end of the last term, however the Dutchman is reportedly against the sale as he still believes that Di Maria can become a success at Old Trafford, according to the same Metro report.

Meanwhile, recent reports had suggested that PSG could us striker Edinson Cavani as part of a potential swap deal to sign Di Maria. However the Daily Mirror reported that the Uruguayan will not be leaving the French capital this summer after being guaranteed the centre forward position.
