Barcelona defender Gerard Pique reportedly had a lot to say to his
rivals after beating Sevilla, 5-4, to win the team’s fourth trophy of
the year on Tuesday, the UEFA Super Cup Championship.
Shakira’s baby daddy wasn’t talking about Sevilla, however. Pique’s comments, according to Spanish television program “El Chiringuito,” were about Real Madrid.
“Lets
go lads, let’s celebrate it,” Pique allegedly said after walking past a
camera focused on his teammate Pedro celebrating on the pitch in
Tbilisi, Georgia, after the win. “[Screw] those from Madrid, let them
see us celebrate.”
Pique, who has had verbal beef with Real Madrid before,
has not commented on the “El Chiringuito” report, but his alleged
words, all of which came while not in the camera’s lens, are already
ruffling feathers in Madrid.
“How great are Real Madrid that they occupy the minds of their rivals
even in their victories!!!” retired Real Madrid midfielder Manolo
Sanchís wrote on Twitter on Thursday.
Whether that was Pique’s
voice uttering the words or not, the 28-year-old managed to do a pretty
good job trolling his opponents after the game on social media anyway.
This cornball pose with the Super Cup trophy that he posted to
Instagram simply can’t be serious.
“One never gets tired of winning cups!” Pique captioned it.
