Premier League Worst Team of the Weekend

Steven Whittaker Premier League Southampton v Norwich 300815

SERGIO ROMERO | Swansea City 2-1 Manchester United | Having been told to prove his physicality by Louis van Gaal, Romero struggled at the Liberty, enduring a couple of particularly nervy moments under high balls and should have done far better when Gomis scored the winner.
STEVEN WHITTAKER | Southampton 3-0 Norwich | Sent off on the half-hour mark after picking up two yellow cards within the space of five minutes.
DEJAN LOVREN | Liverpool 0-3 West Ham | Much more like his performances of old as he put in a dismal showing. Robbed by Lanzini in the build-up to the second goal and lacked confidence thereafter.

DALEY BLIND | Swansea 2-1 Manchester United | Deployed at centre-back, Blind struggled against Gomis, and needed plenty of help from Smalling. Completely lost Gomis when he scored Swansea's second, as the Dutchman turned in a performance that emphasised United's desperate need to sign another defender.
BRANISLAV IVANOVIC | Chelsea 1-2 Crystal Palace | Another poor performance from the Serbian. The full-back struggled to deal with the pace of Sako and Bolasie and his positioning was repeatedly poor.
LEE CATTERMOLE | Aston Villa 2-2 Sunderland | Dragged down Sinclair in order to give away an early penalty, which the hosts converted. Did little when in possession.

CHARLIE ADAM | Stoke 0-1 West Brom | Started brilliantly, spraying some wonderful balls forward from deep. It all went wrong at the half-hour mark, however, as a hard challenge and stamp on Dawson saw him follow Afellay down the tunnel.
IBRAHIM AFELLAY | Stoke 0-1 West Brom | A nonsensical reaction to a tackle from Gardner, slapping the midfielder in the face, saw him sent off after 25 minutes.
PHILIPPE COUTINHO | Liverpool 0-3 West Ham | Frustrated for long periods as he found himself crowded out in midfield and unable to pull the strings as he would have liked. Booked for dissent in the first half before being given his marching orders after the break
THEO WALCOTT | Newcastle 0-1 Arsenal | Handed a start ahead of Giroud but missed two excellent chances to score, especially when he shinned over the bar from inside the six-yard box. A disappointing afternoon ended when he was substituted 20 minutes from time.
ALEKSANDAR MITROVIC | Newcastle 0-1 Arsenal | Cost his side badly when he was sent off in the 16th minute for a reckless, studs-up challenge on Coquelin.
