This article, Report: Cristiano Ronaldo buys $18.5 million NYC apartment, MLS next?, originally appeared on CBSSports.com.
While Donald Trump considers owning a soccer club, Cristiano Ronaldo bought an $18.5 million apartment at Trump Tower, according to the New York Post.
The report says that Ronaldo paid for a 2,509 square foot loft on Fifth Avenue, and the deal was completed on Wednesday.
The 30-year-old has reportedly been linked to joining Major League Soccer when his Real Madrid
contract expires in 2018, so moving to New York only fuels speculation
that he may consider a move to NYCFC in a few years. It would make
sense, as the club has signed former international stars Frank Lampard
, David Villa and Andrea Pirlo.
Though
Los Angeles is supposed to be his preference, and we know he has the
dough for multiple places in each city, it's a good sign for soccer in
the US to know one of the world's best may have a presence in the league
in the coming years.
