Real Madrid won't appeal the signing of David de Gea from Manchester United - meaning the Spaniard will remain at Old Trafford until January at the earliest.
De Gea had been linked with a switch to the Bernabeu for most of the window however having had one offer turned down the Spanish giants didn't re-start negotiations until right at the very end of the European transfer window.
That appears to have cost them however after they missed the deadline to register new players by just minutes last night. Reports suggested that Manchester United and Real Madrid agreed a deal worth £29 million that included goalkeeper Keylor Navas, however the Spanish league authorities didn't received the correct paperwork in time.
According to Spanish journalist Guillem Balague, who broke the news last night that the paperwork wasn't registered in time, Real Madrid president Florentino Perez won't appeal the decision to block the transfer, meaning De Gea wll remain a Manchester United player.He wrote: "So Real Madrid will not appeal so DDG will stay at Manchester United and Navas at Real Madrid. Two unhappy goalies then."UEFA have also tweeted that De Gea will remain with Manchester United which seemingly puts the saga to bed - although they have since deleted the tweet.

Manchester United are said to be ambivalent towards the situation and are happy either way by keeping De Gea for one more season before he walks away for free or by pocketing around £19 million plus Navas.
The resolution isn't ideal for De Gea however, who was due to be unveiled in front of Real Madrid's fans today, while Navas didn't want to leave the Bernabeu which is said to be the reason behind the initial deal being held up in the first place. Manchester United will now hope that the can reintegrate De Gea back into their squad having sidelined him for the start of the new season.
