NIGERIA PREMIER LEAGUE: Ifeanyi Ubah FC 1-0 3SC: Stephen heads Anambra Warriors to victory

John Obuh’s side returned to winning ways after dimming the visiting Stars courtesy of an early strike in Oba

Ifeanyi Ubah FC defeated visitors 3SC 1-0 in a Nigeria Professional League game played at the Rojenny Sports Complex, Oba on Sunday.

Chukwudi Stephen’s 11th  minute header proved enough to silence the visitors who came with the intention of avenging their defeat to the Anambra Warriors in the final of the Nigeria National League play-off final.

Oluyole Warriors came into the game enjoying a fine run since the appointment of Gbenga Ogunbote as they were unbeaten in four games – but their late rally could not help them against defeat.

Ifeanyi Ubah have now moved up on the log with 26 points from 16 games, while Shooting Stars lay far below in the 16th position with 16 points from same number of games.

Gbenga Ogunbote’s men will be aiming to return to winning way when they welcome Giwa FC on Wednesday, while Ubah FC travel to Lafia for a date with Nasarawa United on the same day.
