Real Madrid are prepared to offer Isco to Manchester United in order to sign David de Gea before the transfer window closes on Tuesday.
This is according to Steve Bates of the Mirror, who also understands Manchester United are likely to return for Gareth Bale in January or next summer if they are unable to land the Wales international next week.
Bale scored twice in a 5-0 win over Real Betis on Saturday evening and is keen to get his Real Madrid career back on track following a difficult second season at the Bernabeu.
Real Madrid are confident of signing De Gea within the next couple of days and believe they will secure the Spain international’s services for less than the £33 million United’s executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward is demanding.
De Gea has not played a single minute of competitive football for Manchester United this season and is determined to seal a dream move to the Bernabeu this week. He has no desire to sign a contract extension with the Red Devils, who will lose the Spaniard for free next summer if they decide to keep him.
Real Madrid would surely want to keep Isco
It seems bizarre that Real Madrid would offer the services of Isco, one of Real Madrid’s most technically-gifted footballers, however. The 23-year-old is arguably worth more money than De Gea, who has 10 months left to run on his contract at Manchester United, and is already a top-class attacking midfielder.
If it was the case that Real Madrid were prepared to offer Isco, it’s safe to assume Louis van Gaal would grab the opportunity to sign the former Malaga star with both hands.
The Spain international would be a significant upgrade on the likes of Adnan Januzaj, Ander Herrera and Marouane Fellaini who are all likely to be used in the No. 10 role over the next few months.
